This is Alex Gercog’s public research site. This notice describes the site’s own choices and the third-party services used to deliver it.

Visit counts

The site counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. The counter runs on playb0t.com only. It does not run when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and you can stop it for this browser below. Stopping it also drops counts from a page that is already open. The site does not use Google Analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Stop counting my visits

What is counted

The Vercel counter records a counted page view with its time, the page address without its query string or fragment, the referring address your browser reports, an approximate location (country, region and city), the device type, and the operating system and browser with their versions. Vercel tells visits apart by a hash created from the request instead of a cookie and discards a visitor session after 24 hours; the site receives aggregated counts only. What is stored in your browser

If you stop counting, the site remembers that choice and the time you made it in local storage until you change it or clear this site’s data. The choice is kept in your browser; the site has no server-side preference account. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice may last only until you leave the page.

The site sets no cookies. Google Analytics was removed on 8 October 2026; the site deletes the _ga cookies it may have left in your browser.

The opening scene separately stores a local timestamp named impact-entry-seen. The page uses it to avoid replaying the scene for seven days. That timestamp is not an analytics identifier and the counter does not send it.

Delivering the page and its live figures

Vercel hosts the site and processes ordinary request information needed for delivery and security, such as IP addresses, requested paths, browser information, and request times. Hosting and infrastructure providers may keep operational logs. This notice does not set or promise a retention period for their logs. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.

While this page is visible, the observation radar checks public download statistics, CVE records and research-repository activity directly with npm, the CVE Program and GitHub about every 15 minutes. Those services receive the network information needed to answer your browser. Requests omit credentials and the page referrer. Checks pause when the page is hidden and resume when due after you return. Observations and their changes are kept only in this tab’s memory and reset on reload; no server history or additional browser storage is used. These requests are separate from the visit counts. Links to external research and public profiles take you to services with their own privacy practices.
